Memorial Day weekend is here and serves as the unofficial kick-off to summer in Big Bear and this year…we are starting with fireworks! With California slated to reopen on June 15th, there will be plenty to do. On June 15, capacity and distancing restrictions will be lifted for most businesses and activities. The lake is open and the mountains are calling. If you are looking for watersports, boating, hiking, mountain biking, relaxing, family fun or shopping, Big Bear has something for everyone.

Looking for a great place to ride your mountain bike in? The mountain bike trails at Snow Summit are now open.  Want to take a hike in the woods? Check out AllTrails.com for a list of great hikes to do in and around the Big Bear Valley.  Want to spend the day on the lake? Bring your boat, or easier yet, rent one from one of several marinas around the lake. Want to see some furry mountain friends? Visit the Big Bear Alpine Zoo.  Looking for some family fun? Visit the Big Bear Speedway or Magic Mountain.  The Big Bear Village offers plenty of great shopping and dining options after a day of adventuring. After dinner head to the lake to catch a breathtaking sunset (just like we did last night).

This Memorial Day, the Big Bear Rotary Club will be setting off a very special and spectacular fireworks show. So grab a seat by the lake and watch them light up the sky.
